This week we learned about rectangles. When you have a rectangle opposite sides should be congruent to each other. Also diagonal from one side to the other should be congruent. A rectangle is also a parallelogram with a right angle. The entire rectangle would equal up to 360 degrees. To find out if your shape is a rectangle you would use the distance formula.
First, you have to define your points. Second, you would use the distance formula on WY and XZ. They both equal to the square root of 25. Third, you would use the distance formula for WX and YZ. They both equal to the square root of 5. Lastly, you would use the distance formula on WZ and XY. They both equal to the square root of 20. Once all your answers equal to each other then your shape is a classified as a rectangle.
